Fish & Chips worth talking about?
We love Toff’s in Muswell Hill. Opened in the sixties, Toffs fish restaurant and take-away is an award-winning establishment with a loyal local following for it's wonderful fish and chips. Customers determinedly queue for both takeaways and tables in this Cypriot family run restaurant. The superb range of fish on offer includes Dover sole, halibut, lemon sole, seabass and salmon as well as the traditional cod, haddock, rock, plaice and skate – all are of the finest and freshest quality that can be found. Most locals already know about Toff’s but if you are one of those that hasn’t tried it - then get down there quick for some of the greatest fish and chips in town.

If you want a step up from fish and chips try El Molino in Holloway Road. It's really great. It's a warm and welcoming family-run restaurant and is just like stepping into a Taberna in Spain, with its traditional Spanish decor. It has an extensive tapas menu, which caters for all tastes. They have traditional dishes to offer such as paella and sangria, to give you a true Spanish experience. The portions are huge, we were full-up yet I just couldn’t resist the dessert menu. (puddings are brilliant too). It’s excellent value for money and fantastically good. Even during this credit crunch it is still possible to have a great night out at such a reasonable price. My favourite chippy/restaurant is The Poseidon in East Finchley (opposite Budgens). It has always been a busy takeaway. Two years ago they acquired the premises next door and expanded into spacious restaurant, specialising in a variety of fish, loads of starters i.e. octopus, mussels, squid etc, a great selection of sweets, which include homemade dishes such as pineapple caramel cake and homemade rice pudding.
