The North London Film Fund, funded by Camden, Haringey and Enfield Councils, is once again offering awards worth up to £3,000 for emerging filmmakers to make their own short films. Four awards are on offer to anyone over 18 who lives or works in Camden, Enfield or Haringey.
In addition to the funding itself professional mentoring and filmmaking workshops are also on offer. The winning applicants will have their short films shown at the Curzon Renoir cinema in spring 2010.
Belsize Park resident, and television and film writer, David Baddiel said: “North London is rich in filmmaking talent and NLFF is key to seeking out new filmmakers and supporting them in their early years.”
The North London Film Fund will be launching on 27 August, 6.30-8.30pm, at Wood Green Library. Last year’s filmmakers, project staff and other local talent will be on hand to answer questions for potential filmmakers.
The North London Film Fund offers training, support and funding for filmmakers in North London. In 2009 the North London Film Fund was responsible for new filmmakers creating eight new short films.
